Hampi is a real place and it is guided by the most guides .
Hampi , located in present -day Karnataka ,India, was the capital of the mighty Vijayanagar empire Located. strategically ,it is bounded by the Tungabhadra river on one side and by hills on the other three sides.Spread over an area of more than 25 square kilometers, there are more than 500 monuments in humpi ,among which are beautiful temples ,lofty palaces , royal pavilions, aqueducts and canals, treasury buildings and many more.In the hampti city you see the stone works made by the old workers .they worked for the king.

VITTALA TEMPLE AND STONE CHARIOT

Dedicated to Vittala , an avatar of Lord Vishnu , it is the architectural showpiece of Hampi. There are numerous halls and pavilions inside the temple complex. There is also a huge stone chariot , carved from a single rock.It is built on a rectangular platform , the base of which is adorned with battle scenes . The Purandaradasa Festival , a classical music festival , is held in the temple complex, every year.

NARASIMHA

It is a giant monolithic statue of Narasimha , an avatar of Lord Vishnu. He is depicted sitting cross of the Shesha Naga whose seven whose seven heads from a canopy over Narasimha. The granite strap joining both the knees has been added recently to stabilize the statue.

LOTUS MAHAL

It is surrounded by a wall and watch towers. When viewed from the top, it looks like a lotus. Its arched gateways and vaulted ceilings show a distinct Islamic influence. The lotus Mahal was air-cooled by allowing water to flow through intricate channels along the walls. This took the heat away and cooled the interior. it was probably used by the queens as a pleasure pavilion.

VIRUPAKSHA TEMPLE

It is dedicated to Virupaksha, an avatar of Lord Shiva, and the patron deity of the Vijayanagar rulers. The temple contain the shrine of Shiva , Pampa and Bhuvaneswari. Parts of the temple are older than the Vijayanagar Empire itself.

MAHANAVAMI DIBBA

It is an elevated square stage with stairs. The sides are adorned with exquisite carvings of elephants, horses and other animals. Probably ceremonies were held on it or perhaps the king used to sit here with members of the royal household to watch musical performances, ceremonies and processions.

HAZARA RAMA TEMPLE

It was probably the private temple of the kings of Vijayanagar. It has exquisitely carved walls, with the story of the Ramayana carved all around the inner walls like a comic strip on stone. The temple was called Hazara Rama (temples of thousand Rama's)due to the recurrence of Lord Rama's image on the walls.

ELEPHANT STABLES

It was a shelter for the royal elephants. It consists of a series of chambers, each big enough to accommodate two elephants. The area in front of the structure was perhaps used as a parade ground for the elephants and for the troops. Next to the stables are barracks for the elephant keepers.
